Usually kozhukatta refers to sweet dumpling made from rice flour, with a filling of grated coconut and jaggery in Kerala, but here explained is the recipe of Chettinad style dessert.
Ingredients
Grated Coconut – 2 cups
Rice flour – 1 1/2 cup
Cardamom Powder – 1/2 tea spoon
Water – 4 cups
Salt – as required
Coconut milk – 1/2 cup
Preparation
Boil 1 1/2 cup of water. Mix thoroughly grated coconut, sugar, slat and rice flour in mixing vessel. Add boiled water to the mixture and mix using a spoon. Once it cools enough to handle, kneed to make a smooth dough. Make small gooseberry sized balls out of it. Boil the remaining water, add salt and drop balls one by one to the boiling water. Keep closed with a lid until the balls are cooked properly.
